Your room’s security
Older cameras can still be useful. Their network needs particular care.
Before connecting the camera
Huawei TE10 and TE30 units are older devices whose firmware is probably no longer updated. Treat the camera as equipment that should be isolated from the rest of your network. HuaweiTeamsGateway does not replace your organization’s security measures.
Isolate the network
Put the camera on a dedicated VLAN or separate network. Only the room PC should be able to reach it. Block outbound Internet access for the camera and do not forward any ports to it. Never expose it directly to the Internet.
Protect administration
After setting up automatic answering, change the factory administrator password to a long, unique password stored in your password manager. Disable unused remote access, cloud services and protocols.
Understand automatic answering
Automatic answering is needed for unattended operation. It also allows people who can reach the camera on the network to receive its video and audio streams. Network isolation is essential. Without this setting, someone must answer locally.
Maintain the room PC
Keep the PC updated and use a limited account for everyday operation. Administrator rights are needed to install the virtual webcam and configure the firewall, but not for subsequent use.
Data and connections
The PC connects to the camera over local SIP/RTP. The camera’s web interface is used only at your request to configure automatic answering. No camera password is retained. During activation, the online service receives the PC identifier, product version and unlock code.
Updates
Updates are signed. The product checks their signature and SHA-256 checksum before installation. Your approval is required, and installation never takes place while the webcam is in use. Automatic update checking can be disabled.
Your organization’s policy
Record the camera’s firmware in your inventory. This product does not override any ban on Huawei equipment within your organization. Report security issues to IntegrIA.app without publishing exploitable details.
